We are a Natural Sciences School focused on integrating environmental awareness into our daily activities. Our students frequently explore nature through walking field trips and nature hikes in the local countryside.
Our school has earned the highest rating, "Performance School," from the Colorado Department of Educations every year since the rating system started in 2016. Each spring, we hold a Science Expo where students spend several weeks researching topics and creating projects for an Open House. We also take students to the Regional Science Olympiad competition, and many advance to the State Finals, where we regularly rank in the top 20% in Colorado.
SMALL CLASS SIZES: Our typical class size is under twenty students. This means all of them receive more individualized attention and instruction from our staff of excellent veteran teachers. We set high academic expectations for our students, and they consistently reach their goals. As part of Pueblo School District 70, we are on a four day per week calendar. In Beulah, however, our school days are longer. This allows our students to spend more time going into depth on each area of study every school day.

Our "Pueblo Bus Route" picks up students along Colorado Highway 78 between school and Galbreth Road. (See Google Map) This is the bus stop used by many of our Pueblo families. It is located almost exactly EIGHT miles west of the intersection of Pueblo Blvd, and Northern. Morning pick up is at roughly 7:00 AM. Afternoon drop off is roughly 4:05 PM.
Our "Beulah Bus Route" travels through town and the surrounding areas picking up students from bus stops in the mountainous areas.
Beulah School believes active students are healthy students. Our elementary children enjoy two outdoor recesses daily and have structured physical education every other day. Middle school students participate in daily physical education classes. We host an annual Lap-a-thon to promote healthy lifestyles, and our Field Day is a favorite for students and families.
We are also a school that is rich in art experiences with a dedicated art studio. We offer Kindergarten through eighth grade students rich instruction in visual arts, music, theater and dance. We are a multi-year Colorado Arts Partnership (CAP) Grant recipient for residency in dance with the Ormao Dance Company. We are also a three-year recipient of the Cherry Creek Arts Grant with our mini-gallery for student and professional art displays.
One of the greatest benefits of being a kindergarten through eighth grade school is that we get to spend a lot of years together. This gives our students and staff a strong sense of community and belonging. During their time here with us, our students and their families become a part of our own extended family.
Our rustic locale does not mean that we are cut off from the world completely. We are proud to have ChromeBooks for every one of our students. Our students get plenty of experience using them as part of their daily routine. We also have a large library in our building. It has more books than many school libraries in much larger schools. This is because our school serves as a satellite branch of the Pueblo Library District. As such, we receive all of the benefits and services available to any public library.
Even though we are a small school, we provide a full experience for our sixth to eighth-grade students. They enjoy formal social events and dances, including a catered etiquette event to practice ballroom dancing. Our student council engages in service projects, and we offer various sports programs for both boys and girls, with successful teams in cross-country, volleyball, basketball, and track. Additionally, boys can participate in football through Craver Middle School in Colorado City.
FREE BREAKFAST & LUNCH: All of our students benefit from our delicious breakfasts and lunches made in our own kitchen-- all of which are FREE!! There is a salad bar with fresh fruit and vegetables every day. We believe that students are better able to focus on the tasks we set before them if they are not distracted by being hungry.
If you are looking to become involved around the school, we have two wonderful support organizations that depend on parent and community volunteers.
Boosters is a parent organization that helps our teachers and classrooms with materials and supplies. They raise funds with concession sales at our sporting events, hosting a back-to-school "Catch-Up" night, organizing our school carnival every fall, hosting an annual Spaghetti dinner, and holding a lap-a-thon for field trips.
The Beulah Education Support Team (B.E.S.T.) is our other support organization. This non-profit organization runs community wide events like the Beulah Challenge Race, Do the Right Thing Recycling, and the Annual Beulah Chili Cook-Off. Their funding helps the school pay for programing, staffing, tutoring, outdoor education, and writing grants for projects that support our vision.
Every school day, we offer affordable after-school care through our BEST Care 4 Kids program, which is supported by BEST. Under our qualified director's guidance, children receive homework assistance and engage in structured activities. During the summer, we also run a popular week-long STEAM Camp. If you need child care, BEST Care 4 Kids is a great option.
